Second Rasdhoo burn victim passes away

The 31-year-old man who suffered severe burns in a house fire in Alifu Alifu atoll Rasdhoo has passed away while undergoing treatment in India.
The fire broke out on the night of March 26 in a room occupied by the man and his spouse.
Both sustained serious burns. After receiving care in the ICU at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), the man was transferred abroad for further treatment.
Although his condition showed signs of improvement, it later deteriorated, and doctors were ultimately unable to save him.
His wife, also 31, succumbed to her injuries last week on Monday night while being treated at IGMH.
Despite the severity of the burns, the fire caused minimal damage to the room, with only a burnt window curtain as the most significant damage.
