An elderly man who was seriously injured in a dangerous accident in B. Eydhafushi has passed away on Friday.
The accident in question took place on January 15th.
Speaking with Sun, Eydhafushi Council President Mohamed Fathih said the elderly man passed away while being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’.
The deceased has been identified as 82-year-old Aboobakuru Abdulla, Seasonge, Eydhafushi.
A resident from Eydhafushi who spoke with Sun said the accident took place on the evening of January 15th as Aboobakuru was hit by pickup while headed home from the mosque after Magrib prayer. Citing witnesses who saw the accident, the resident alleged that it was resulted by the negligence of the pickup driver.
According to the witness, the pickup driver is currently in police custody.
