Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has conveyed his best wishes to the national men’s futsal team ahead of the final match of the SAFF Futsal Championship 2026.
He shared his message in an interview with PSM News.
During the interview, the Vice President praised the talent of the players, stating that their performance thus far had met expectations and expressing his pride in the team. He also acknowledged the efforts of the coaching staff in preparing the squad for the tournament.
He noted that Maldivians have always demonstrated unity through sport, adding that the entire nation is eagerly anticipating tomorrow’s match and standing in solidarity with the team.
The Vice President also highlighted the achievements of the women’s team that competed in the tournament, commending their hard work and wishing them continued success and further opportunities.
Team Maldives has won all four of its matches in the tournament. A victory against Bhutan would secure the championship for the Maldives.
