BML Chief Executive resigns after two year tenure

Chief Executive Officer of the Maldives national bank, the Bank of Maldives, Peter Horton has resigned after a two year term.
A senior official from BML said that Horton, who assumed the Chief Executive post in February 2011, decided to leave after receiving “a very good offer” from an outside bank.
“Peter has received offers from three different banks. But he decided to leave after getting a very good offer this time,” the official said.
A British national, Peter Horton started his career in British financial services firm Barclays in 1984 and has been in the international arena since 1999. The official from BML said that Horton’s contract with the bank is set to expire in February 2014.
