Home Minister Azleen Ahmed have said that the government will provide food subsidies to all those who deserve it.
Azleen said that the government wants to provide subsidies to those who deserve it and that the government will do it. Azleen said that the reason for the policy changes in subsidies is to prevent an ‘unknown group’ of people receiving the subsidies.
The Economic Minister Mohammed Saeed said that there are around 42,000 people who do not get 22 Rufiyaa daily and the government’s aim is to provide subsidies for these people.
He said that these 42,000 people falls below the poverty line and the government’s subsidies will be targeted to these people. The minister described these people as a group of people which the government should take care of.
