The presiding bench overseeing the current trial of Ex-President Mohamed Nasheed has resolved to summon Criminal Court Chief Justice Abdulla ‘Gaazee’ Mohamed for testimony.
The decision to summon Judge Abdulla Gaazee was resolved by the Presiding Judge in the Judge Panel overseeing the trial of Ex-President Nasheed، while earlier، the State lawyers had resolved a motion not to call for him، as they received enough evidence from the witnesses who testified before.
Judge Abdulla ‘Gaazeee’ will be summoned to the Criminal Court for testimony during the hearing of Nasheed tabled for Tuesday.
Meanwhile، the legal team of Ex-President Nasheed withdrew from the case stating they believe they are not given enough time for case evaluation and a solid ground to provide legal assistance to Nasheed.
Nasheed is pressed with terrorism charges by the State، for the unlawful detaining and isolating of the Criminal Court Chief Judge Abdulla ‘Gaazee’ Mohamed in 2012.
