The military of the Maldives has deteriorated in it’s services since 2008، said Defence Minister Mr. Adam Shareef Umar، while speaking at the function to mark 124th Anniversary of MNDF held Sunday evening.
Minister noted that no concrete developments were brought to the force، as well as، no efforts were put to enhance the training and the welfare of the officers.
He also highlighted that many officers have not received any promotions.
Furthermore، Defence Minister noted that the new retirement regulations would strengthen the military، allowing the retiring officers to have other jobs.
Noting that the military officers are the defenders of the nation، Defence Minister said the military also build the nation.
In addition، Minister Adam Shareef assured that military will continue to provide it’s services in the betterment of the public، and also assured to overcome all the difficulties to strengthen the service.
