The Bank of Maldives (BML) on Wednesday opened applications for the ‘Bank Fund’, an initiative the national bank launched last year to empower NGOs, charity organization and clubs  to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects.
Under this fund, five projects in the areas of education, environment, sports and community development will be selected to receive MVR 200,000 each.
Clubs and associations registered in Maldives can submit their application forms and proposals via email to [email protected] by 4:00 pm on May 29.
Individuals, government bodies, business entities and other institutions that are state-funded are not eligible for this program.
In addition to this fund, BML has provided assistance to 100 projects across the Maldives through the Community Fund, which ran for a period of five years starting from 2019. BML said it always places great importance on empowering communities and contributing to the development efforts of the country.
