A man has been arrested from Male’ City with over one kilo of drugs and a large amount of cash.
The suspect, Hassan Nazeeh, 32, G. Jootheege, K. Male’, was arrested on Thursday, January 30, in a joint operation by Drug Enforcement and Counter-Narcotics Intelligence.
According to police, the operation was conducted based on information received by Counter-Narcotics Intelligence regarding the consumption, possession and peddling of drugs.
The police arrested Nazeeh and raided two residences linked to him, from where they found drugs and a large amount of cash.
Police said that the provisional weight of the drugs seized in the operation is over one kilo.
The police did not specify the type of drugs or the exact amount of cash found in the operation.
Nazeeh was presented before the Criminal Court for his remand hearing on Saturday.
The court remanded him in custody of the police for 10 days.
The case is under further investigation by the police.
