The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed an agreement designating the corporation as a partner of the Asia Media Summit, which is being hosted by Public Service Media (PSM).
The agreement was signed by PSM’s Managing Director, Ahmed Shakeeb, and HDC’s Acting Director for Corporate Social Responsibility, Hussain Shaheed.
Under this partnership, HDC will facilitate activities at Kudagiri following the conclusion of the Asia Media Summit. The summit is an annual event organised by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), and this year it is being hosted by PSM.
PSM Managing Director Ahmed Shakeeb stated that a range of special activities will take place in Kudagiri after the summit. He highlighted HDC’s key role in a coral planting initiative to be carried out on the island, noting that coral restoration is an important step towards environmental conservation in the Maldives. He added that such efforts demonstrate the country’s commitment to sustainability on a global stage.
HDC’s Acting Director for Corporate Social Responsibility, Hussain Shaheed, said that the summit would draw significant international media attention to Kudagiri, creating valuable promotional opportunities for the island.
The Asia Media Summit will be held from 11 to 14 May at Villa Nautica Resort. Pre-summit workshops are scheduled for 11 May, with five sessions planned. The official opening of the summit will take place on 12 May.
PSM is currently finalising preparations for the event. As Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD)’s flagship forum, the summit is expected to bring together around 200 delegates from the broadcasting industry across the Asia-Pacific region.
