Land handover begins under Binveriyaa Scheme in Hulhumale’ Phase III

Land is being handed over to recipients under the Binveriyaa Scheme from Hulhumale’ Phase III.
Eleven plots were handed over on the first day, with handover expected to continue daily.
Land from Hulhumale’ Phase III was allocated before the area had been dredged. Although reclamation works had been attempted several times previously, the work had not progressed effectively. However, after the current government took over administration, the dredging works were handed over to Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), with 63 hectares later dredged as Hulhumale’ Phase III. The land reclamation was completed on 25 January.
A total of 698 plots will be allocated from Phase III under the Binveriyaa Scheme.
Plot distribution by size:
- 181 plots of 1,650 sq ft
- 242 plots of 2,050 sq ft
- 132 plots of 2,450 sq ft
- 62 plots of 2,850 sq ft
- 41 plots of 3,250 sq ft
- 16 plots of 3,650 sq ft
- 24 plots of 4,000 sq ft
A lottery held on 20 December determined plot allocation for beneficiaries. According to the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, the government aims to complete land handovers by 15 April. A total of 337 recipients have already received registration for their plots.
