The amendments to the law of Sea Transportation by the Government have been ratified by President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom. With the ratification of the bill, it was printed on the Gazette. The new amendment allows the Government to take more steps for safety and security. According to the bill, the Ministry has been given authorized to make a number of laws regarding safety. The bill says that Ministry has the power to set the safety regulations for passengers aside from crew training and certificates along with their medicals. The Ministry has now been authorized to manifest all vessels in the country.
