Former President Mohamed Nasheed currently serving a 13-year prison sentence has been brought to Malé City to consult a doctor.
Information Officer of the Maldives Correctional Service, Moosa Rameez told Sun Media today that President Nasheed was brought to Malé City at noon today to consult an orthopedic doctor and is still in Malé City.
The former President was brought back last week as well to consult a doctor at ADK Hospital.
President Nasheed’s family and lawyers have previously raised concerns that the former President is not receiving proper health care.
While the former President has been brought to Malé City to consult a doctor, he has recently decided to appeal his case at the Supreme Court.
