The first taxi driver training program of the year was successfully conducted in Kulhudhuffushi City as part of an ongoing series of training and refresher initiatives for taxi drivers.
Organized by Road Safety Awareness and Prevention, the program took place on the 7th of this month and focused on strengthening drivers’ understanding of land transport laws and regulations.
The primary objective of the training was to familiarize new entrants to the taxi service, as well as existing drivers, with current legal requirements while enhancing overall awareness of road safety and public security.
Participants received detailed guidance on land transport regulations. The sessions also emphasized the responsibilities of taxi drivers in handling road accidents and other on-road incidents, including appropriate conduct and response in such situations.
A total of 30 drivers took part in the program, comprising 24 newly registered taxi drivers and six drivers currently providing taxi services in the city.
Certificates were awarded to all participants upon successful completion of the training.
