FDC to begin Gedhoruveriya key handovers next week

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced that keys to five residential towers developed under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme will begin to be handed over in the second week of December. The full rollout is expected to continue through January 2026.
The handovers will start with five towers from the AMAN Udhares and AMAN Dhoadhi clusters. FDC said the schedule may adjust as needed, but the Government aims to complete all handovers by the end of January.
Proposed handover schedule:
Second week of December – Udhares Towers 11, 12, 13, 15, 16
Week of 5 December – Dhoadhi Towers 1, 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 14
Second week of January – Dhoadhi Towers 15, 16
Third week of January – Udhares Towers 5, 6
Fourth week of January – Udhares Towers 1, 2, 3, 4, 7
Week of 5 January – Udhares Towers 5, 10
Fifth week of January – Dhoadhi Towers 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
FDC said construction of all towers has been completed, with final utility testing ongoing before handover. The first units under the project — at Tower 14, were handed over on 28 September.
To reduce financial pressure on residents, the Government has approved a rent reduction for consistent payers. Under the subsidy, monthly rent is set at MVR 9,000 for three-room units and MVR 7,000 for two-room units.
