An Indian cargo ship travelling from H. Dh. Kulhudhuffushi to Male’ City has wrecked on a reef near Helengeli Island Resort in K. Atoll.
The 35-meter cargo ship “MSV Dhaula I” was travelling with eight people onboard when it wrecked on the reef to the south of Helengeli Island Resort at dawn this Monday.
Information Officer for Maldives National Defense Force, Ibrahim Azim said the incident was reported to the authority at 5:10 am.
He said the Coastguard was now at the scene, and that no one was hurt in the incident.
