President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reiterated his steadfast commitment to justice and fairness, assuring impartiality in the administration of the law. Speaking to PSM News ahead of his official visit to Malaysia, the president addressed the recent fatal incident involving a young woman who fell from a rooftop.
President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed his administration's unwavering focus on equity, highlighting its determination to prioritise justice without distinction. He rejected cruelty or partiality, underscoring his resolve to uncover the truth surrounding the 18 April incident near H. Fentanoy. He underscored that no individual holds greater importance to him than the pursuit of justice.
Acknowledging public concerns, President Dr Muizzu addressed accusations of attempts to obscure facts and stressed his commitment to accountability. "I am aware of the accusations suggesting an attempt to obscure certain facts and have taken note of the concerns expressed by the youth. It is my firm commitment to identify those responsible for this crime and ensure that they are held accountable under the law, irrespective of their identity," he said. Reiterating his pre-election pledge, he stressed his independence from external influences, describing himself as a servant of the people.
In pursuit of a thorough investigation, President Dr Muizzu announced the formation of an independent commission with full authority to examine all aspects of the case. "I assure you that there will be no barriers to scrutinising the necessary details, and no party will be exempt from questioning. I fully expect the truth to emerge promptly and am committed to concluding the investigation with transparency and responsibility," he stated.
Reflecting on his administration's approach, President Dr Muizzu highlighted his consistent resistance to undue influence and reaffirmed his dedication to safeguarding the nation's stability and justice.
