Minister Adam Naseer Describes Muizzu Administration as Just, Principled and Future-Orientated

The government of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is a stable and principled administration, committed to justice and long-term national planning, Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim has said.
At the official ceremony marking the nation’s Republic Day, Minister Adam Naseer reflected on the Maldives’ historic transition from a hereditary monarchy to a republican system. The shift, he said, was intended to secure meaningful benefits for the public. Under this structure, the leader elected by the people must govern “with both faithfulness and honesty toward the constituents.”
The minister turned to the moral and intellectual attributes required of a just ruler, drawing on the perspectives of Islamic scholars. “It is important to consider the views expressed by Islamic thinkers,” he said. “The capacity to discern between what is religiously right and wrong, and the capacity to understand the conditions and status of the people, must be present.”
He identified honesty, the ability to establish justice, and a commitment to religious ethics as essential qualities. Public consultation, he added, was also critical. A stable ruler, in his view, must govern with foresight and formulate policies aligned with a long-term vision.
These principles, Minister Adam Naseer said, are reflected in the leadership of President Muizzu. He described the president as actively working to build a system of governance grounded in these values.
Reviewing the administration’s performance over its first two years, the minister pointed to President Muizzu’s emphasis on religion and nationalism. He also noted the president’s efforts to secure judicial independence and maintain close engagement with the public.
He concluded by highlighting the government’s commitment to strategic planning. The administration is working to finalise a comprehensive 20-year national development plan.
