Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has introduced the first-ever awards dedicated to the aviation industry in the Maldives.
The Velana Awards have been launched to recognize the contributions of Velana International Airport (VIA) partners in strengthening air transport connectivity, improving service quality, and helping maintain the Maldives as a leading destination for both travelers and business communities.
MACL said the awards will be presented annually.
This year’s edition features 22 awards across three main categories: Passenger Awards, Cargo Awards, and Lounge Awards. A special Airline of the Year title will also be presented to an airline that has demonstrated outstanding performance and contribution to the sector.
The inaugural Velana Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday night at Crossroads Maldives.
