Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has participated in the Gulf Food Trade Show to promote the variety of fish products in the Maldives.
The state-governed MIFCO stated that the purpose of the participation was to promote MIFCO products in the Middle Eastern countries.
Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the Gulf Trade show took place from  17 to 21 February and was one of the biggest in the world.
The Acting Managing Director of MIFCO, Mr Ismail Fauzy spoke to the media and stated that the new management is putting a high emphasis on advertising the products of MIFCO. The primary reason for this focus is to establish a strong market by the time they upgrade the main Felivaru factory of MIFCO.
MIFCO has been giving less priority to exporting of raw fish and placing more priority to exporting Value Edition products.
In addition to upgrading Felivaru, they also stated that they intend on increasing the capacity of Koddoo.
