Japanese journalist group visit Maldives under tourism familiarization initiative

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has invited a group of journalists from Japan as part of the tourism familiarization trip organized by the tourism promoter.
According to Visit Maldives (MMPRC), the journalist batch arrived on Tuesday, 11 January and will stay in the country until Monday next week, 17 January 2022.
The group includes writers and reporters from some of the most decorated news outlets and publication agencies that have massive readership reach. MMPRC confirms that the group will stay at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa and Mercure Maldives Kooddoo during their visit.
The writers are expected to report their experiences in the Maldives through articles and features on their respective publications which is aimed to draw in prospective travelers from the Japanese market.
Moreover, this familiarization trip marks the very first trip of the series organized by Visit Maldives for the current year.
In 2019, Japanese visitors to the Maldives hit an annual total of 44,251 making Japan the ninth strongest source market to the tropical island nation.
