Transshipment services has already begun in Maldives : Economic Minister

Economic Minister Muhammad Saeed has stated that the government has started transshipment services in Maldives. He noted the fact that it was a political promise of many other governments but it was the current government that was able to deliver this promise.
In a meeting held with the business community of Addu City, the minister said that, the service is given in Maldives in some level but the aim of the government is to make that service available from maximum number of ports possible.
He also noted that the air taxi services have also begun in Addu City and highlighted the fact that a charter flight landed in Huvadhu Atoll a day earlier. He said that it is a huge achievement.
The minister said that the government is ready to work with the business community of Addu and try to resolve issues they face. He said that the government needs cooperation from the people and the businesses.
He specifically noted the importance of stability. “ If a country is not stable, then the country will be always shaking” said the minister. He said that the government requires the help especially the help of the businesses to over come from such problems.
Mohammed Saeed said that the government gives a high priority to develop Addu City and President Yameen is always ready to facilitate in developing Addu City.
