BML introduces Internet Banking, Mobile Banking for visually impaired
Bank of Maldives Limited (BML) introduced Internet Banking and Mobile Banking services for the visually impaired. The bank said Friday that the new service provides Internet Banking and Mobile Banking to visually impaired customers at any given time without necessitating visits to any BML branches. BML’s Retail Banking Director Mohamed Shareef said they have several investments to enhance their services and provide them to various regions across the country. He stated that it is a great joy to the company to provide internet and banking to an integral part of the community such as the visually impaired. “They can access bank services from any place at any time now,” said Shareef. These services are provided to the visually impaired under an agreement between the bank and a guardian appointed by the customer. BML had last year released debit cards to the visually impaired under a similar agreement. Internet Banking offers services such as monitoring account balances, money transfer to accounts, paying loans, credit cards and bills, and credit transfer to phones.
