MNDF basic training graduates take oath

Graduates of the 72nd and 73rd batches of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Basic Training Course have taken their oath.
President and Commander-in-Chief of MNDF, Dr Mohamed Muizzu, officiated the oath-taking and firearms presentation at a ceremony held at the Kaafu Girifushi parade ground. The oath was administered to the graduates by High Court Judge Hussain Mazeed, following which President Dr Muizzu presented the newly sworn-in soldiers with their firearms.
The courses were conducted from 7 March to 11 June 2026, with the 72nd batch completing their training at the Addu Training Centre under the MNDF Southern Area Command, and the 73rd batch at Girifushi. A total of 255 students completed the course in the latest batches, including 138 students from the 72nd batch and 117 students from the 73rd batch.
The Basic Training Course is designed to equip new recruits with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to serve across various military branches. Its core objective is to cultivate disciplined, obedient, physically fit and patriotic soldiers who uphold high moral standards.
