SME Digital and the Business Centre Corporation (BCC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen support for young entrepreneurs under the Youth Entrepreneurship Financing initiative.
The partnership offers mentorship, business training, business registration assistance, project monitoring and business development support.
BCC will provide these services to all beneficiaries of the Youth Entrepreneurship Financing programme. BCC said it would help them start and successfully grow their businesses by equipping them with the practical skills and experience needed.
SME Digital’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Badruddin Hassan said the goal is not only financial assistance but providing young entrepreneurs with the knowledge, confidence and support needed to succeed, with financial and business development services available under one roof.
BCC’s Managing Director Ibrahim Ziyau said the partnership supports youth empowerment and the growth of the digital and creative economy. He added that stronger support for young entrepreneurs can create jobs and contribute to the government’s target of increasing the digital and creative sectors’ share of GDP to 15 percent.
The programme provides financing of up to USD 9,727 for eligible young entrepreneurs aged 18–35. Applications are fully digital and can be submitted through the Swipe mobile app.
