The Annual Judicial Conference 2025, aimed at enhancing court administration, has commenced.
The two-day seminar, organised by the Judicial Academy, was inaugurated by Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan.
According to the Department of Judicial Administration, this year's theme focuses on Islamic financing and enforcement challenges in civil procedure cases, the Department of Judicial Administration said. A paper on non-financial sentence enforcement and marriage reform will also be presented during the seminar.
In addition, the challenges faced by the courts, including staff issue, space constraints at courts and the difficulties in obtaining the necessary resources for the courts, will be discussed, with judges also sharing their input. The seminar will also discuss the overview of Islamic finance, with other relevant agencies also taking part in the discussions. Furthermore, discussions on drafting and overseeing Shariah-compliant contracts in complex structures, as well as legal aspects of Islamic finance issues will be discussed.
The Annual Judicial Conference has been held since 2016 to strengthen the administrative management of the courts.
