JSC Suspends Three Supreme Court Justices

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has suspended three Supreme Court justices: Husnu Al Suood, Mahaz Ali Zahir, and Dr. Azmiralda Zahir.
The decision was made during an ongoing JSC meeting under Article 25 (z) of the Judicial Service Commission Act, which mandates that if a judge is arrested, investigated, or charged with a criminal offense, the Commission must decide within 48 hours whether to temporarily remove them from their duties.
The suspension comes as the three justices were preparing to rule on a case requesting an interim order regarding the loss of parliamentary seats for certain MPs.
While the JSC has not issued an official statement on the matter, a letter sent to the Supreme Court indicated that the suspensions are linked to a criminal investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
