Maldives Immigration has revealed all of its border officers have completed the full dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a tweet, Maldives Immigration stated it was proud to reveal that 100% of its border officers have completed the prescribed doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Noting immunisation is the best safeguard against COVID-19, Immigration urged all agencies to follow the special vaccination drive initiated by the government.
Earlier this week, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih called upon all authorities to encourage the administrations’ community-wide mass vaccination programme. Emphasising the need to complete vaccination for the entire eligible population of the Maldives, he strongly urged government institutions and subsidiaries to work towards this goal.
As per the latest update by Health Protection Agency (HPA), over 327,000 people have completed the first dose of the vaccine, while over 280,000 people have completed both doses. The government has set the target of vaccinating 90% of the population eligible for vaccination by the end of this month.
