Civil Service Commission’s President Dr. Ali Shameem has stated that Chinese students are successful globally and that this success is in part attributed to the hard work carried out by parents, especially mothers.
He made the statement speaking in the 2014 prize day ceremony of Keydhoo School.
Dr. Shameem compared the parenting disciplines of Chinese mothers to that of lions and noted that Chinese mothers are punctual and attentive. He also noted that Chinese schools conducted regular awareness sessions for parents as well.
He noted that 70 percent of the programs run in schools were aimed at teachers and the rest at parents.
