Dhiraagu MNUSU Football Fiesta kicks-off

Maldives National University Student Union hosted football competition – open for all local colleges – under the banner “Dhiraagu MNUSU Football Fiesta” kicks off.
The tournament kicked off at Maafanu Stadium’s futsal grounds، with the opening game between Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Shari’a and Law. The game saw Shari’a Law emerging as victors with a score of 3 goals against 1، while Izham Mohamed from Shari’a and Law selected as MVP of the match.
Second game of the tournament took place between CHSE (Center for Higher Secondary Education) and Faculty of Education، with the latter beating the former with a score of 5 against 4. MVP of the game was Salim Hassan of Faculty of Education.
Third game of the tournament saw Clique College and Villa College going up against each other، however the match ended without any of the teams able to secure a goal. MVP of the game was Ahmed Shujau.

Fourth game was an effortless win to Faculty of Islamic Studies as they won with a score of 3 against 1، with the team’s Husham Ibrahim selected as the MVP of the match. In the fifth game، Maps International High lost against Islamic University with a score of 0-1. Islamic University’s Yasir Mohamed was the MVP of this match.
Sixth game saw MNU Business School capping the win against MI College، with a considerable winning gap of 5 goals against 1. Ahmed Makthoom from MNU Business School was selected as the MVP of this game.

The tournament had however officially started with last night’s games، with Commissioner of Police attending as Chief Guest for the opening ceremony. The first game after the tournament was officially inaugurated took place between Ahmadiyya International High and Faculty of Science، with the latter beating the former with a score of 8 against 3. Abdulla Nafiu from Faculty of Science was selected as the MVP of this game.
Yesterday’s last game took place between Foundation Studies and Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies. The latter had capped a surprising lead win with a momentous gap of 11 goals against 2 goals of Foundation Studies. Najih Ibrahim from Hospitality and Tourism Studies was the MVP of this game.

The tournament sees a total of 18 teams competing، while the teams have been distributed to a total of 4 groups. The tournament will continue until 5th of September، during every weekend.
