Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizz has described the Laamu Link Road developed with the assistance of China will be a memorable gift from China.
Minister Dr. Muizz made this remark speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the ‎Road Development Project of Laamu atoll.
Dr. Muizz noted that this project will cost US $ 30 million and this will be provided by Chinese government to Maldives as a valuable gift for the people of Maldives.
Dr. Muizz expressed hopes that this Link Road will open up many investments and businesses in the area which will benefit all people of the region.
“Transport is the key to development. This project will definitely bring progress and development,” he said.
Dr. Muizz said that the project is signed to be completed within 24 months however the contractor agreed to complete it within 18 months.
