Maldives flunks below Bhutan in FIFA rankings; currently at 6th position

Maldives drops 38-ranks below in FIFA-Coca Cola World Cup rankings، with the rank-drow blow taking them lower than Bhutan.
With a drop in rank by 38 positions، Maldives currently holds at 178 of the FIFA rankings. While Maldives holds 39th position in the Asian ranking region، SAARC region ranking puts Maldives at 6th position. Previously Maldives held the 19th rank at Asian region level.
India tops the SAARC rankings while they lie on FIFA leaderboard’s 141th rank، this is a 6-rank bump from their previous position. Afghanistan lies at SAARC rankings’ second position with a rank drop of 16، that puts them currently at 151st position FIFA rankings.
Third place from the SAARC region goes to Bhutan، who had been the in the pits of the region ranking for sometime، they had received a bump of 4 ranks، taking them on 159th spot of FIFA rankings.
Bangladesh pops up at 166th position in FIFA ranking، with a bump of three ranks higher، putting them in the fourth place of the region while fifth spot goes to Pakistan who is holding at 170th position. While Maldives faces the drop of 38 ranks below، they are holding at the sixth position of SAARC region.
The regions’ least faring teams are Nepal who are holding at the seventh position of SAARC rankings، while they are placed at 183rd position in FIFA ranking while the eighth place holder Sri Lanka is suffering at 186th in FIFA ranking.
Current top spot holders of the FIFA world ranking is the most recent World Cup winners Germany while Belgium moves up to second spot. Last year’s runners-up Argentina lies at third position.
