President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu Welcomes Adoption of New York Declaration on Palestine Two-State Solution

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has officially welcomed the adoption of the “New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.” The declaration was the outcome of the High-Level International Conference held at the United Nations from July 28 to 30, 2025, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia.
In his statement, President Muizzu described the declaration as a strong expression of international support for the permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people and the recognition of the State of Palestine with full United Nations membership.
He emphasized the commitment of the global community to assist Palestine in achieving sustainable recovery from ongoing conflict, ensuring its economic viability and security.
President Muizzu reaffirmed the Maldives’ firm and unwavering support for an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and international law.
