First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has inaugurated the new futsal ground in F. Dharan'boodhoo during her visit to the island.
Accompanying the First Lady at the ceremony were Minister of Health Geela Ali, Member of Parliament for the Nilandhoo Constituency Fathimath Saudha, and President of the Dharan'boodhoo Island Council Abdul Hameed Adam.
The First Lady presented commemorative plaques to both teams ahead of the inaugural match — a friendly under-12 fixture between F. Nilandhoo and F. Dharan'boodhoo, which concluded with a 1–0 victory for Nilandhoo.
Upon her arrival on the island this afternoon, the First Lady was accorded a warm welcome by the residents.
