Maldives dissolves three agreements previously done with Israel، and decides to stop importing Israel-made products، making Maldives to get a lot of International Media attention.
Xinhua، Travel Plus، Global Posts and Al Jazeera posted the news of Maldives’ ‘statement’ to the inhuman attacks of Israel to Palestine and Gaza.
Referring to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives، Dunya Maumoon، Chinese famous newspaper Xinhua quoted “I don’t think Maldives need any help from Israel or we need to have any ties with them. That’s why we broke the agreements”.
Xinhua says further that the decision of the government bans any import of Israel-made products to Maldives and the products which are already in stocks of the shops can be taken by the government.
Referring with Tourism Ministry of Maldives، Xinhua stated that a very few Israeli tourists come to Maldives for holidays; 2569 in 2013 and only 254 until June this year.
Speaking with Al Jazeera Arab-American Action Board Member and the Co-Founder of Electronic Iftada Ali Abunimah said on Tuesday that Maldives dissolves three agreements with Israel to show their disappointment with Israel’s actions with Palestine.
Praising Maldives، Ali Abunimah said، “Even the little Maldives today، I mean the tiny Maldives cut of the trade agreements between Israel. If the Maldives is not afraid of Israel، why are the United States، European Union and Arab States so terrified of challenging Israel and its horrible crimes?“.
