BML launches payment gateway, Maafushi branch

Bank of Maldives has launched the banks payment gateway and the new Maafushi branch. The two initiatives were launched by Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed.
Bank’s CEO and Managing Director Andrew Healy said that a MVR 300 million project had been launched to further improve the bank’s services, especially in the islands. He added that this was the first of the seven branches to be opened under the new style this year.
Healy added that the services of the bank is now accessible from 28 branches, 10 self-service ATMs, 75 ATMs, 3200 POS machines, 177 cash agents and five dhoni banking units.
“The investments made by BML outweigh and outrank the investments by other banks. We can proudly claim that we are investing in the citizens of the country,” he said.
Healy added that the newly launched payment gateway will facilitate transactions from any place in the globe.
“All popular credit cards will use the system, anywhere in the world, even in the maldives. Customers can carry out transactions from any part of the globe,” he said.
The opening ceremony was attended by many local businesses in Maafushi, councilors and members of institutions.
