Aim to provide all services on time: MPL

MPL CEO Ibrahim Shareef has said that the aim of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) was to provide all pilot services to those parties that required the service.
Speaking to Miadhu, Shareef said that MPL had employed the use of two launches to provide pilot service. Out of the two launches, he said that one launch had undergone repairs and now in operation.
“In some cases we have to enter in three boats. In that situation servicing the third boat is an issue. But we are working to expedite the service,” he said.
Shareef added that cruise liners were a vital income generator to the economy and as such, they were giving special attention to servicing cruise liners.
A cruise liner agent to the Maldives reported that last year one of their cruise liners were services after a 90 minute wait. He also said that additional liners that arrived in January and the previous day had been serviced after a 20 minute wait.
The cruise liners only stay docked for a while. During that time, cruise liners make arrangements to make the best use of the time.
