Third round of China Maldives FTA discussions begin

The third round of the China Maldives Free Trade Agreement discussions have begun.
The discussions, ongoing in Bandos, will be concluded on the 26th of this month.
Economic Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Yoosuf Riza said these were a continuation of the previous rounds of discussions, adding that the two governments sought out to sign the agreement before the end of this year.
Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed said trade between the two nations were on going, adding that Chinese assistance to the country was invaluable. He said the joint committee created to facilitate trade between the two nations was successful. He also said that even though the FTA is yet to be signed, the assistance provided was extremely valuable.
Economic Minister had welcomed the visiting team from China.
