Pres. Muizzu departs on two-day visit to Addu and Fuvahmulah

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Tuesday, has departed on an official visit to the two southernmost Maldivian atolls: Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.
During his visit, the President will meet the councils and Women’s Development Committees (WDCs) of Addu City and Fuvahmulah City to discuss development priorities and the needs of local communities He will also engage directly with the residents to hear their concerns and enquire about their well-being.
This visit is part of the President’s initiative to tour all Maldivian atolls and engage directly with councils at the island, atoll, and city levels.
He is joined by cabinet ministers and senior officials from major government institutions.
Notably, President Muizzu recently became the first head of state to visit all residential islands in the Maldives in record time, achieving the feat by completing visits to all inhabited islands within just one year and eleven months of assuming office.
The President’s Office states the residential tours symbolize the Administration’s steadfast commitment to decentralized development, ensuring that every island, regardless of its size or remoteness, participates in and benefits from the nation’s progress, with no community left behind.
During his travels, the President oversaw the commencement of island-specific projects such as powerhouses, police posts and ATMs, and the signing of key development agreements, particularly in housing, education, health, and wellness.
