The Dhivehi “Word Card” set developed by Alimas Institute has been officially launched by the Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage, Heena Waleed.
These cards were introduced during the “Dhivehi Language Evening” held by the Dhivehi Language Academy in Hulhumalé Phase 2. Alongside Minister Heena Waleed, the President of the Dhivehi Language Academy, Hassan Shaakir Mohamed, and senior officials from Alimas Institute attended the event.
According to Alimas Institute, these Word Cards are designed based on the concept of word cards used in learning English, but adapted to make learning Dhivehi easier and more engaging. The institute noted that this is an important step toward increasing students’ interest in the Dhivehi language and helping them learn vocabulary in a more enjoyable way.
The cards are specially designed for students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 of the national curriculum. As a result, they are expected to greatly assist primary school students in learning Dhivehi words and their meanings.
