The Maldives welcomed over 632,000 during the first quarter of 2025, statistics have shown.
According to the Tourism Ministry, a total of 632,418 tourists visited the Maldives during the first three months of the year, an increase of 4.7 percent compared to the same period last year, where 604,004 tourists visited the Maldives.

China remains the largest source market for Maldivian tourism, followed by Russia and United Kingdom.

According to the statistics, 69.2 percent of the tourists visiting the Maldives -- 437,942 -- stayed in resorts, while 25.3 percent — 159,695 tourists— stayed in guesthouses. A total of 18,404 tourists stayed in hotels, while 15,933 stayed in safari vessels and 445 in other accommodations.
The Maldives currently has 175 resorts, 838 guesthouses, 157 safari vessels and 15 hotels in operation.
