ACC sends corruption case against scandal-hit judge for prosecution

Haveeru has found that the corruption watchdog is looking to prosecute the scandal-hit judge for unauthorised transfers of MVR2,223 from his mobile when the bills had been covered by the state. Neither the ACC nor the PG office has officially commented on the case. The discrepancies in judge Hameed's mobile bill had come to light in an official audit of the judicial administration in 2010. According to the audit, Hameed had paid back the money after the unauthorised transfers were flagged by the audit office. The audit had also included state expenses on repairs for the judge's car incurred due to negligence. Meanwhile, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is currently investigating a sex tape of judge Hameed. However, the judicial watchdog is yet to take any action against the scandal-hit judge despite public pressure.
