BML signs partnership deal to provide work experience to colleges
Bank of Maldives (BML) has signed an agreement with five leading higher education institutions in the country including the Maldives National University (MNU) to collaborate in a program to provide students with practical knowledge of the workplace. The program, “BML Prospect - Connecting Talent with Opportunity”, launched at a cermeony held at the Head Office of BML where agreements were signed with MNU, Avid College, Clique College, MAPS College and Villa College. Representatives from each institution participated in the ceremony today. Under the agreement, BML will provide work experience to final year students to help prepare them for the job market, while high-performing students interested in a career in Banking will be considered for job opportunities at BML. The bank will also make contributions to course modules and career guidance programs in the five colleges. CEO and Managing Director of BML, Andrew Healy said that the bank is delighted to enter a partnership with the leading higher education institutions in the country. “We want to play our part in nurturing talented students and ‘BML Prospect’ will provide valuable experience to help ensure they are ready for the job market when they graduate.” Healy said. As part of their‘Aharenge Bank’ campaign, BMLrecently committed to invest MVR 300 million to expand it’s reach and services, creating 150 new jobs in the process.
