The teenage girl, who went missing this morning while on her way to school in Hulhumale’, has been safely located.
Police, on Tuesday morning, said they are searching for a 15-year-old girl who went missing while on her way to school in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
According to the authority, the case was reported at approximately 8:30am this morning.
Police detailed that, based on their investigations, they can confirm the teenage girl who was heading to school from Hiyaa Tower 8 did not arrive at school.
In a message to the media on Tuesday afternoon, Police confirmed that the girl has been found safely at approximately 12:18pm. She was located in Hulhumale’ Phase I.
The case is under further investigation.
Although Police typically disclose the identities of children who are reported missing, they have not done so in this case.
While young children and youths are occasionally reported missing in the Maldives, they are usually located soon after search efforts are launched.
