Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has opened a special branch for its retail customers.
The branch is located at MIB’s office building in front of the Artificial Beach.
According to the bank, the new branch will have special arrangements for retail customers, including extended opening hours in consideration of the working hours of individuals employed in offices.
In this regard, the branch will be open from 8:30am to 16:00pm while issuance of cash cards, rings and tags will procced at ground floor of the branch from 10:00am to 18:00pm.
MIB states all services required by a private individual will be available at the branch. This includes services such as account opening, money depositing, cheque book collection and bank statement requests.
Although MIB is the first bank in the Maldives to digitalize all its services, the bank continues to expand its branches across the country for customers who wish to physically visit the bank to obtain its services.
MIB’s media manager Ahsan Jameel said the bank’s goal is to pave way for everyone to access to its services without leaving behind any citizen.
MIB is the first and only full-fledged Shariah-compliant bank in the Maldives. It is also the first bank in the Maldives to digitalize all its services.
The bank has also introduced payment rings and tags as a replacement for cash cards.
