A cargo vessel en route to Hulhumale' from GDh. Gadhdhoo with five on board has gone missing.
According to Maldives Police Service, the vessel named 'Brilliant Carrier' had been reported missing around 20:00hrs on Monday evening, April 28. The crew on board consisted of three locals and two expatriates.
Police revealed the last time the vessel had made any contact was around 02:40hrs on Monday early morning. The vessel's captain had reported the vessel had made it out of 'Huvadhoo Kandu' and was en route to Hulhumale', but shortly after which there were no further communication from the boat.
The vessel was reported missing to Gadhdhoo police station around 18:00hrs on Monday evening. Police relayed this information to Maldives National Defence Force's (MNDF) Southern Region Command, which had been trying to locate the boat.
Police further informed to contact the National Emergency Number 911 or the nearest police station with any information about the vessel.
