The construction of six hospitals in the atolls will wrap up this year, says Ismail Shareef, a state minister at the Health Ministry.
In an interview to Public Service Media (PSM), Shareef said the Maldives will see “revolutionary” changes to healthcare infrastructure by the end of the current presidential term.
Shareef said that hospitals under construction in HA. Hoarafushi, N. Kendhikulhudhoo, R. Dhuvaafaru, B. Thulhaadhoo, Lh. Hinnavaru and Th. Guraidhoo are expected to be operational before the end of this year.
Speaking further, Shareef said that there are now dialysis centers in nine regions across the Maldives, with MRI and CT can services now available from all regional hospitals.
