Housing Minister Dr.Mohammed Muizzu have said that no lands in Maldives has been given to any country for any period.
In rally held by MDP last night, they said that the land between Alimas Carnival and Dharubaaruge has been given to China for 100 years and Miadhu News asked Housing Minister Muizzu to comment on the matter, to which he answered that no land has been given to any country.
Dr.Muizzu said that “ it is a blatant lie” and it is irresponsible for an opposition party to spread such lies regarding a country like china which provides numerous aids and assistance to the Maldives. In last night’s rally MDP heavily criticized the ongoing developmental projects carried out by China in the Maldives.
Some people at the rally said that MDP is finding it hard to digest the fact that, the bridge which MDP refused to believe that can be built is being developed and also they can see that the airport is being developed by the government with Chinese assistance. In addition, the Chinese government also built a 17-kilometer link road in Laamu atoll and are building thousands of flats; all of projects which MDP cannot even dream of accomplishing.
During MDP administration, no countries has done anything for Maldives. Countries friendly with MDP government did nothing other than criticizing the judiciary and the democracy of Maldives. Maldivians did not benefit in any way from any of those things.
