Over 700 students graduate from Cyryx College; 23 receive Chairman’s Award

Over 700 students celebrated their graduation from the Cyryx College on Friday, including 23 students who received the Chairman’s Award for academic excellence.
Cyryx College’s 2025 Convocation ceremony on Friday night saw certificates presented to 703 students who successfully graduated from programs in 2023 and 2024, including Bachelor’s degree programs in IT, business administration, human resources and marketing fields, and Master’s degree programs in big data and data science, cyber security, business administration, and public administration.

Over 250 students received certificates upon successful competition of Diploma and Certificate-level courses.
The Master’s degree in cyber security program had been the first such course offered by a higher education institute in the Maldives.

Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar, who attended Friday’s ceremony as the chief guest, commended Cyryx, one of the oldest colleges in the Maldives, for its remarkable contributions towards educating people in various fields, especially in the field of IT.
During the ceremony, 23 graduates received the Chairman’s Award for academic excellence.

Meanwhile, Fathimath Saifa, a graduate of the Bachelor’s of Psychology program, was named the top achiever and received the Late Ogaru Faiza Ali Award for Excellence, a cash prize by Faiza’s family, and the College Council Medal.
Two NGOs – Women in Tech and IEEE Maldives – received the newly-introduced Abdulla and Shaimau Memorial Scholarship for their efforts to develop IT in the Maldives.
