Maldives Police Service, in September, recovered 109 stolen motorcycles.
The details were disclosed in the statistics of work carried out by Male’ Front Policing in September to maintain the safety and security of Male’ roads.
The statistics include details of stolen items recovered by the authority and their value. They include 109 motorbikes valued at MVR 6,878,776. The Police also recovered MVR 588,822.76 stolen in cash over 20 different cases.
Apart from this, Police recovered 13 phones valued at MVR 154,526 and eight other electronic devices valued at MVR 32,000.
The value of other items recovered by the authority has been placed at MVR 43,115, spanning over 39 cases.
Male’ Front Policing attended to a total of 109 cases in September, with the highest number of cases pertaining to theft a 71. There were 16 cases of violence, 12 cases of robbery and 10 cases of road accidents.
Theft tops the highest number of cases filed with the authority this year, with 2,685 cases reported this year.
